Gettin' Spicy in Montreal: Ivey's Rollerskating Competition Highlights

Ivey talks Montreal Cup and reflects on her international travels.

What was your favorite memory of the whole trip?

My favorite memory of the trip was probably getting to skate the Big O. Legendary spot with an awesome crew!

Where’d you travel from for Montreal Cup?

I flew from Colorado to NYC and then drove to Montreal!

What was the most intense part of the competition day?

Definitely Elise breaking her finger during warm ups 😭 😭 😭

Whats one thing that went better than expected?

I’d say I try my best to approach comps with little to no expectation. Everything is just for the fun and experience; 😊 when you don’t expect anything, nothing can go wrong!

How is Montreal Cup unique compared to other contests you’ve competed in?

Montreal Cup is the only contest I’ve attended outside of my home country, so it feels really unique and special to get to share that time with people in the community that I don’t typically see.

Last year’s weekend extravaganza included a group street sesh. Tell us about the streets in Montreal and that experience.

The street sesh was super fun. It was really awesome to be able to get to skate with everyone without anyone feeling the competition pressure. I loved seeing what the locals like to skate too!

Will you be returning for the 2026 competition?

I unfortunately won’t be able to make it this year 🙁 I’ll be working this year. FOMO will be in fuuuullll effect.
