Mr. Dalnas is returning to defend his title in Montreal for the third year straight. Can he do it?
If you remember, what was your favorite trick that you pulled off in last year’s competition?
Oh, I remember, because I worked for it! Alley-oop topsoul transfer to true miz on the rainbow rail to down box.
How is Montreal Cup different from other contests you’ve competed in?
Just the course being on the street in a city setting, with the crowd and dope vibe! It’s honestly one of my favorite events to come back to!
Do you like the city & enjoy when you go? Do you make a trip out of the weekend or only come for the contest?
I always enjoy visiting Montreal! Normally, we make a weekend trip out of it, skate some street spots, and visit some local bars and restaurants!
Any special food that you like to treat yourself to while in the city?
Poutine, of course!
What are you looking forward to this year when it comes to Montreal?
Just skating that course again!
If you could add one thing to Montreal Cup what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything!
Having a hefty competition season so far (which also means a lot of travel), how do you manage it all from the physical aspect to the mental load?
I love the travel, especially the drive to Montreal. It’s a nice, scenic ride through the mountains. A lot of travel doesn’t stress me out; I look forward to it!!
Do you feel like you are motivated and have the necessary obstacles to take risks during the competition and push your skating?
I’m always motivated to skate to the best of my ability! The course has obstacles I genuinely look forward to skating and pushing myself to do better than I did the previous year.
What do you miss most when you’re on the road?
My daughter, Nora (but she is coming with me this year). 😀
Are you ready to defend your title?
Absolutely! I’m always ready to compete, and I’m looking forward to getting back on that course and seeing what I can do this year. I know everyone is coming to skate their best, so I’m just going to focus on having fun and putting down my best skating.
